Behavioral Tech

Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is a federal agency with a mission of facilitating recovery for people with or at risk for mental or substance use disorders. NREPP, SAMHSA’s national registry recognizes DBT to be an evidence based program in both it’s overall program and best practices.
National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)
NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. What started as a small group of families gathered around a kitchen table in 1979 has blossomed into the nation’s leading voice on mental health. Today, Nami is an association of hundreds of local affiliates, state organizations and volunteers who work in your community to raise awareness and provide support and education that was not previously available to those in need.
Charles Swenson
Charlie Swenson is a psychiatrist on the faculty of the University of Massachusetts School of Medicine. After adapting DBT to his own inpatient and day hospital contexts, he proceeded to train others and to direct DBT implementation projects across the United States, Canada, and Europe. His website has lots of DBT resources, including a podcast.
